Army soldier killed, 9 others injured in Mankulam accident

COLOMBO (News1st); An Army soldier was killed and nine other soldiers sustained injuries when an Army cab collided with a lorry near the Vasanthanagar junction in Mankulam.

The injured group was admitted to the Kilinochchi Hospital, following the accident which was reported early on Friday (26) morning.

The deceased was a 39-year-old resident of Ehetuwewa, Galgamuwa.

He was serving as a Sergeant at the Murukkandi Camp attached to the 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Army Service Corps.

The driver of the lorry was arrested in connection with the accident.
