Samitha Siritunga, Head of Accident Prevention and Management in the Ministry's Non-Communicable Disease Unit, a community medicine specialist, highlighted the dangers of allowing young children to handle fireworks unsupervised.

He emphasized the potential for serious injuries to the face, hands, and feet.
