Electricity Sector Reforms Bill Gets Cabinet Nod

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Cabinet of Ministers approved the electricity sector reforms bill, said Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

Accordingly the approval was granted to gazette the amended version of the new electricity sector bill and to present it to the Parliament for approval.

He said that the bill will be gazetted this week to be presented to the Parliament in the last week of April.

The public will have 2 weeks from the day it’s presented to the Parliament to challenge the bill, said the Power and Energy Minister on X.
