COLOMBO (News1st); Tea planters said with the prevailing dry weather conditions, the yield of tea has decreased by around 30 percent.
National organizer of the National Federation of Small Tea Estates Lal Premanath said the drought has severely affected tea plantations.
He said 200-300kg of tea leaves were harvested from an acre previously, adding however that the yield is 100-150kg per acre at present.
