High Court Rejects Bail Request for Keheliya

COLOMBO (News 1st); Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka today rejected the bail request made on behalf of former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

Rambukwella is currently in custody, facing allegations related to the distribution of counterfeit medicines.

The court's decision came swiftly, with Judge Sujeewa Nissanka rejecting the bail application without issuing a notice to the respondents.

The judge cited the absence of sufficient and unique evidence as the reason for denying bail.

Rambukwella's daughter had petitioned the court to review the orders issued by the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court.

The request sought the release of Keheliya Rambukwella on appropriate bail terms.

The former Health Minister's case centers around allegations related to the supply of counterfeit drugs.
