COLOMBO (News1st); The Road Development Authority said the elevated port access road from Ingurukade Junction in Colombo to Port City will be declared open in July.
The 5.3km long road consists of four lanes, and the RDA said around 80 percent of its construction has been completed.
The RDA said the new expressway consists of five entrances namely the Ingurukade ramp, Pettah hub ramp, Aluth Mawatha, Galle Face, and Port City premises.
The expressway will also be used as a new access route for seamless transportation of containers from the port.
Over Rs.28 billion of financial aid provided by the Asian Development Bank was spent on the project.
