COLOMBO (News 1st); The daughter of Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has filed a revision bail application with the Colombo High Court, seeking bail for the Ex-Minister.
Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka decided that an order on whether the revision application will be allowed to be taken forward, will be made on the 3rd of April.
Additionally, the court will also decide whether to issue a notice to the Attorney General and the Criminal Investigation Department, both of whom are named as respondents in this case.
During today’s court session, Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama, representing the Attorney General, raised objections to the revision application.
She highlighted that essential documents related to the revision application were not submitted to the court.
Consequently, the Deputy Solicitor General requested the dismissal of this revision application.
In response, Anuja Premaratne, PC, representing Keheliya Rambukwella, asserted the innocence of his client.
He contended that all alleged wrongdoings were committed by the first suspect currently in custody in connection with the incident.
The case involves ten individuals, including the former minister, who have been remanded in custody.
The allegations pertains to the payment of nearly 40 million rupees for a stock of counterfeit medicines claiming to be Human Immunoglobulin.
