CID to Continue Probing Former President Sirisena’s Claims On Easter Attacks

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Criminal Investigation Department has announced that it will pursue further investigations based on the advise of the Attorney General concerning former President Maithripala Sirisena.

This development is linked to a significant revelation he made regarding the Easter Sunday Terror Attack.

On the 22nd, Former President Maithripala Sirisena publicly asserted that he possesses knowledge about the perpetrators behind the Easter Sunday Terror Attack.

In light of this statement, the Criminal Investigation Department recorded statements from the former president yesterday.

These investigative efforts stem from the Minister of Public Security, Tiran Alles, who directed the Inspector General of Police to conduct an inquiry into the veracity of Sirisena’s claims.

Notably, the Criminal Investigation Department obtained statements from former President Maithripala Sirisena during the period from approximately 10:30 am to 3:50 pm yesterday.
