Sirisena Appears Before CID, Gives Five Hour Statement

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena presented himself before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today.

His appearance is in connection with a revelation he made concerning the Easter Sunday attack.

On the 22nd, Former President Sirisena publicly stated that he possesses information regarding the perpetrators behind the Easter Sunday attack.

Subsequently, acting on the advice of Minister of Public Security, Tiran Alas, the CID initiated an investigation under the directive of the Inspector General of Police.

As part of this inquiry, statements were recorded from Former President Maithripala Sirisena, commencing at 10:30 AM. He concluded his interaction with the CID at 3:50 PM.
