Yukthiya To Continue Amid International Pressure

COLOMBO (News 1st); Public Security Minister Tiran Alles has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicate drugs and dismantle underworld networks within the country.

Despite international pressures, the Yukthiya operation will persist until these threats are effectively neutralized, he noted.

According to Inspector General of Police Deshbandu Tennakoon, the Yukthiya Operation has yielded significant results.

Over the past three months, drugs valued at 8,634 million rupees have been seized. Additionally, the police have taken possession of assets belonging to individuals involved in drug trafficking.

In a strategic move, a special operation targeting the southern province has been initiated.

Minister Tiran Alles emphasized that these operations will be executed with maximum efficiency, adding that comprehensive plans have been meticulously prepared to ensure the success of this endeavor.

The ongoing operation aims to curb organized crime activities reported in the Southern Province.
