Drunk driver and group assault cops

COLOMBO (News 1st); Four officers from the Thanamalwila Police who were on traffic duty have been assaulted.

According to the Police, the attack was carried out by a drunken driver and another group.

The injured Police officers are currently undergoing treatment at the Thanamalwila Hospital.

In response to this incident, the Thanamalwila Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the assault.

These suspects are scheduled to be presented before the Wellawaya Magistrate today.
