COLOMBO (News 1st) - Due to the dry weather prevailing in the country, 4,751 people have been affected in various parts of the island.

The Disaster Management Center stated that 1,490 people in the Gampaha and Kegalle districts have been affected.

Meanwhile, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that wtaer is being provided to the areas of Dehiwala, Ratmalana, Moratuwa, Panadura, Wadduwa and Waskaduwa, from time to time.

This system is being carried out due to the increase in water consumption due to the dry weather.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that water supply to those areas is of low pressure.

The board informs the general public to use water frugally.

Meanwhile the Kalutara Disaster Management Center has taken steps to provide water to Mathugama, Horana and Ingiriya, using water bowsers.
