Basil Meets Indian Envoy In Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st): Former Sri Lankan Minister and Founder of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Basil Rajapaksa called on the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santhosh Jha in Colombo on Wednesday (13).

The Indian High Commission said that the High Commissioner and the Former Minister exchange views on bilateral relations, political developments and other subjects of mutual interest.

On the 5th of March 2024, Former Sri Lankan Minister and Founder of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Basil Rajapaksa returned to Sri Lanka.

The Former Minister returned to the country after flying to the United States of America, following the fall of the Gotabaya Rajapaksa government.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival, Basil Rajapaksa said no official decision has been reached with regard to candidates for the upcoming elections.

He said, irrespective of the nature of the election, he will spearhead the SLPP preparations for elections.
