Forest Fires Surge: Drones To Identify Individuals Responsible

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Forest Conservation Department, led by General Nishantha Edirisinghe, is deploying drone technology to identify individuals responsible for setting forest fires.

This initiative comes in response to a recent surge in fire incidents attributed to the current dry weather. 

Four fires have already been reported this year, destroying a total of 30 hectares of forest.

Additionally, the department has launched a "forest fire control week" to raise awareness and implement preventative measures.
