COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Education in the Western Province has announced that the final examinations for grades 10 and 11 will be conducted again, starting on Wednesday (06). This decision comes in response to the recent leak of question papers for several key subjects.
According to the Department, new sets of question papers will be issued for the affected subjects. The leak, which involved Science, History, and Mathematics papers, prompted the temporary suspension of the final term examinations for these grades.
The exams will be held on the 7th, 8th, 11th and 12th of March.
The question papers for the relevant date will be issued to the principals from the zonal education offices.
Investigations are currently underway by the Western Provincial Education Ministry and the Criminal Investigation Department to determine the source of the leak.
In a related development, the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Ministry of Education has also taken action. The Grade 10 English subject exam, which was initially suspended due to the leaked English question paper, will now be held today. Instead of the compromised paper, students will receive a new set of questions.
