Sri Lanka Arrests 656 in 24-Hour Anti-Drug Operation

COLOMBO (News 1st);  Sri Lanka's Ministry of Public Security announced the arrest of 656 suspects by the ongoing "Yukthiya Operation" in a 24-hour period ending at 12:30 am today. 

The arrests focused on combating drug trafficking and crime across the country.

535 individuals were apprehended for alleged involvement in drug-related activities.

121 suspects were arrested based on warrants and referrals from criminal divisions, including:
6 individuals with open warrants related to drug offenses, 102 individuals with open warrants related to non-drug offenses, 13 individuals wanted for various crimes. 

The operation also led to the seizure of a significant amount of illegal drugs, including Heroin, Ice, Ganja, Mawa pills.
