Man Dies in Accidental Discharge in Mulathivu Forest

COLOMBO (News 1st); A tragic incident occurred in the forested area of Mulathivu Thannimuruppu today, resulting in the death of a 48-year-old man.

According to reports, the victim, along with his son and three others, were tending to plants in a field when the accident happened.

They had built a bonfire, and according to police reports, a locally made firearm in their possession fell into the fire and discharged.

The 48-year-old man sustained injuries from the gunshot and was pronounced dead.

The Mulathivu Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
