COLOMBO (News 1st); Israel and Sri Lanka are set to sign a civil aviation agreement, aiming to strengthen relations and boost economic opportunities.
Israel Foreign Ministry said the agreement will open direct air routes between the two nations, facilitating tourism and business travel.
It added that Transportation Minister Miri Regev will promote the use of a land route to counter threats in the region during her visit to Sri Lanka.
The signing of the aviation agreement is expected to take place soon, and further agreements and collaborations might be established as part of the wider economic corridor initiative.
