Operation Yukthiya nets 770 suspects in 24 hours

COLOMBO (News 1st) - 770 suspects were apprehended in the past 24 hours under Operation Yukthiya. 

567 of them are said to be linked to various drug offenses. 

The Ministry of Public Security says that 203 suspects are on the list forwarded to the country's crime control authorities. 

Police seized 132 grams of Heroin, 128 grams of ICE, and 15kg and 900 grams of cannabis as well. 

6 of the apprehended suspects are being questioned based on detention orders. 

2 have been directed to drug rehabilitation centers.
