Sri Lankan Expressway to See New Rules and Minimum Speed Limits

COLOMBO (News 1st); Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Sri Lanka's Minister of Transport and Highways, revealed plans for new regulations governing the use of the country's expressway.

These changes, expected to be gazetted within the next two weeks, are aimed at improving safety and efficiency on expressways.

Key among the proposed measures is the introduction of a minimum speed limit. 

While details of the specific speed remain undisclosed, its implementation is intended to address concerns about slow-moving vehicles impeding traffic flow and potentially creating dangerous situations.
