Another 836 suspects arrested under Operation 'Yukthiya'

COLOMBO (News 1st); Another 836 suspects have been arrested under Operation 'Yukthiya', during the past 24 hours.
579 of them were arrested for drug-related offences.
The Ministry of Public Security says 257 suspects who were on the list directed to the Crime Divisions were also among those arrested.
Police seized 142g of heroin, 95g of ICE and 1kg of marijuana from the suspects' possession.
Six of the suspects arrested on drug charges have been held under detention orders for further investigations.
One person addicted to drugs has been directed for rehabilitation.
