Protest near the Parliament against the Online Safety Bill

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The debate on the draft Online Safety Bill is currently being held in Parliament for the second day today.

The voting is scheduled to be held this afternoon.

Meanwhile, a protest was held today at Polduwa Junction near the Parliament

It was conducted amidst a court order being issued preventing protesting at that location.

Members of several civil organizations, including the Socialist Youth Association, joined the protest

When the protest was about to start, the police informed the protestors of the court order, but they did not accept it and continued the protest.
