Parliament to Conclude Fourth Session Next Week

Colombo (News 1st): SrI Lanka's Ninth Parliament is nearing the end of its fourth session, with Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announcing it will conclude on January 24th. 

The fifth session of the Ninth Parliament is then set to commence on February 7th.

The speaker confirmed that the official termination date will be confirmed through a gazette issued by the President. 

This closure will trigger the dissolution of various Parliamentary Committees, including the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) and the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

Upon the resumption of the parliamentary session in February, the process of appointing new members and reforming the committees will begin.
