CCD arrests 2 persons attempting to aid escape of "Harak Kata"

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has arrested two persons who had arrived in a vehicle in the guise of taking Nadun Chinthaka alias "Harak Kata" to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). 

Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa says that the vehicle which had arrived from Matara was driven by the suspects from Delkanda to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). 

A similar incident was also previously reported.

The vehicle in which the suspects travelled in was taken into custody by the CID as well. 

"Harak Kata", wanted for multiple cases concerning fraud and drug-related cases was arrested in Madagascar, and was extradited back to Sri Lanka on the 15th of March. 

A detaining order was issued for the suspect to be questioned further by the CID. 

On the 10th of September, Nadun Chinthaka alias "Hara Kata" was arrested upon attempting to steal the weapon of a Police Special Task Force (STF) officer.
