Muthuhettigama remanded again over illegally assemble vehicle

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lankan lawmaker Nishantha Muthuhettigama was returned to remand custody until the 27th of September in the case filed over the possession of an illegally assembled vehicle.

Local authorities had filed a case against Muthuhettigama for the possession of an illegally assembled vehicle, that also contained a fake license plate.

The case was taken up in the presence of Galle Chief Magistrate Isuru Netticumara on Thursday (21).

Assistant Superintendent of Police K. A. Udaya Kumara, the Director of the Walana Anti-Vice Unit making submissions said that none of the documentation required for the registration of the vehicle with the Department of Motor Traffic were submitted to the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.

He noted that requests made to submit those documents on multiple occasions have gone unanswered.
