Colombo (News 1st) - Sri Lanka's 13-match winning streak in one-day internationals is expected to be severely tested today (12th) by an Indian team that has so far been rampaging through the Asia Cup 2023, when the two sides clash in a key Super Four match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The match will be shown live on TV-1 and on www.sirasatv.lk with MTV Channel Pvt Ltd being the rights holder for television broadcasts of the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. The match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Sri Lanka time.

Rain may be a spoiler once again, with torrential downpours being the norm in Colombo over the last couple of weeks. The India-Pakistan match was badly hit by the weather on Sunday and was completed on the reserve day on Monday.

India's fitness will be severely tested as they will be taking the field just 16 hours after finishing off a hapless Pakistani side at the same venue. India hammered their archrivals with an astonishing 228-run win, bundling out their South Asian neighbors for just 128 in only 32 overs with Kuldeep Yadav picking up five wickets for a mere 25 runs. The powerful Indian batting machine had earlier raced to an imposing total of 356 for just two wickets with centuries by Virat Kohli and K.L. Rahul being preceded by half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

Sri Lanka's winning streak is second only to Australia's 21 wins in 2003. But critics point to the fact that many of Sri Lanka's wins have come against lesser opposition, including an unbeaten run through the World Cup Qualifier Tournament in Zimbabwe recently.

History has not been kind to Sri Lanka in recent matches against India, with India having won 10 of the last 11 matches against the hosts in Sri Lanka.
