Fire breaks out at a chemical factory in Kandana

One person has died in a fire that broke out in Kandana.

According to the police the fire had broken out at a chemical factory in Kandana. 

An employee at the factory who worked as an accountant had died in the fire.

Two fire trucks have been deployed to douse the fire.

Meanwhile, 20 students from a school in Kandana have been admitted to the Ragama Hospital after they had inhaled the toxic smoke emitted at the factory in Kandana.

Officials at the Hospital said that the students who were admitted are in stable condition.
