FIFA lifts ban on Football Federation of Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st) - FIFA has decided to lift the suspension on the Football Federation of Sri Lanka with immediate effect.

According to a statement by FIFA, the decision was taken by the Bureau of FIFA Council after the Football Federation of Sri Lanka had met the criteria that were laid out for the lifting of the sanction. 

However, the statement highlights that FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will continue to monitor the situation until the elections for a new FFSL Executive Committee on September 29.
