Famed U.S. game show host Bob Barker dies at 99

Colombo (News 1st) - Bob Barker, who hosted the famous U.S. game show "The Price Is Right" for 35 years, has died of natural causes at 99, U.S. media reported Saturday.

The Price Is Right, which Barker hosted from its inception in 1972 until 2007, and continues today, is the longest-running game show in U.S. television history.

Barker, whose signature line "Come on down!" became famous as he called out the names of audience members selected to compete, won 19 Emmy awards in a career that spanned six decades.

Barker served in the US Navy in World War 2, before commencing a career on radio and then moving to television.
