Drivers and conductors of 187 bus route commence a strike

Colombo (News 1st): Drivers and conductors of Private buses plying between Route No. 187, Katunayake Airport, and Fort have commenced a strike, based on the change made in the bus route.

We made an inquiry from Prasanna Sanjeeva, Chairman of the Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority regarding this issue.

He said, the buses are currently using an alternative route to travel and this has caused issues with the airport traffic and other stakeholders. 

He said, therefore the decision to not allow the buses to travel that way has caused this strike
