Yala will NOT be closed due to arid weather

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation said that it has no plans to close down the Yala National Park due to arid weather conditions.

Wildlife Secretary R. M. C. M. Herath told News 1st that the Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation will aim to protect tourism while also protecting the wellbeing of wildlife.

She noted that the Ministry of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation had taken measures to deliver around 200,000 liters of water to the Yala National Park for the consumption of wildlife.

The Wildlife Secretary further said that water is being delivered to the water holes used by the wild animals.
