COLOMBO (News 1st) - In response to the severe water scarcity brought about by the ongoing dry weather conditions, the Disaster Management Center has taken proactive measures to address the crisis.
The director of the Disaster Management Center, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe says that the Center has deployed nearly 100 bowsers to distribute water across the island, with a primary focus on hospitals and social service institutions in need.
He adds that around 202,500 people across 15 districts have already benefited from this water distribution initiative so far.
