Foreign Minister briefs Diplomatic Corps in Colombo on GoSL progress

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry, PC briefed the Colombo-based Diplomatic Corps on Wednesday (16).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that presentations were made on the following areas:

1. Office of Missing Persons Sri Lanka, on the progress of resolving issues relating to missing persons including the recent positive developments in tracing.

2. The progress on setting up the proposed Office for Overseas Sri Lankans (OOSLA)

3. The planning and work completed on the proposed Truth Seeking Mechanism.

4. Progress and updates by the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR)

5. The latest developments by the Presidential Secretariat on the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Heads of Missions commended the Government of Sri Lanka on the impressive progress made during the last year in averting a serious crisis, and were positive about on the way forward.
