Japan's Foreign Minister on SL's debt

COLOMBO(News1st): Foreign Minister of Japan Hayashi Yoshimasa met with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena at Temple Trees. 

The Prime Minister had admitted that the suspension of the Light Rail Transit project which was to be constructed using credit assistance from Japan was a mistake committed in the recent past. 

The Prime Minister has also requested the Japanese Government to resume discussions on continuing the project. 

Memorandums of Understanding on human resources between the two countries and student sholarships were discuessed.
