Lawyer remanded for alleged document destruction

COLOMBO (News 1st); A female lawyer who was arrested for unlawfully entering the archives of the Kekirawa District Court, and forcibly taking away a document to destroy it, was remanded to the 2nd of August.

She was produced to the Kekirawa Magistrate's Court on Friday (28).

The Magistrate ordered the Anuradhapura Prison Superintendent to produce the suspect to a Judicial Medical Officer on the 31st of July at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, to obtain blood samples.

The suspect is a full-time lawyer attached to the Kekirawa District and Magistrate Courts.

She is a resident of Sekkupitiya, Kekirawa.
