Top Chinese official in Sri Lanka today (19)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Yuan Jiajun, member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, will visit Sri Lanka from 19 to 23 July.

This visit was announced by the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka.

Yuan jiajun, is a native of Tonghua County, Liaoning Province.

He is PhD of Engineering, a researcher, doctoral tutor, and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions to National Defense Technology Industry. He also served as vice chairman of the International Astronautical Federation.

He was president of China Academy of Space Technology, vice chairman of China Association for Science, corresponding member of International Academy of Astronautics.

He was also an Alternate Member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.

He was Vice-Governor of Zhejiang Province from 2014 to 2017 and in 2017 he was named Governor of Zhejiang Province. He is a member of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
