Prices of Urea and MOP fertilizer to be reduced

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to reduce the price of urea and MOP fertilizer.

Accordingly, the price of a 50 kg bundle of urea, which was 10,000 rupees, will be reduced to 9,000 rupees.

In addition, a bundle of MOP fertlizer, which was previously being sold at a price of 19,500 rupees will now be sold at a price of 15,000 rupees. 

The Ministry says that  MOP fertilizer and organic fertilizers can be obtained according to the value of the fertilizer vouchers issued to farmers.

The Ministry adds that according to the value of the voucher, farmers can obtain the fertilizer in to or three installments.
