Early landslide warnings issued to 5 districts - NBRO

COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Building and Research Organization issued Landslide Early Warnings to Badulla, Matara, Matale, Galle and Kegalle Districts.

Landslide Early Warning have been issued to:

Badulla, Haldumulla and Hali Ela Divisional Secretariets  in the Badulla district and the Passara Divisional Secretariet in the Badulla District.

Baddegama, Yakkalamulla Divisional Secretariets, Elpitiya and Nagoda Divisional Secretariet in the Galle District.

Kegalle Divisional Secretariet in the Kegalle District.

Pallepola Divisional Secretariet in the Matale district.

Kotapola and Pasgoda Divisional Secretariets in the Matara District.

Meanwhile, the Met Department has issued a weather advisory for heavy rains.

The Met Department predicts that the showery condition is expected to continue further over most parts of the country due to mid - level atmospheric disturbance.

Fairly heavy shower above 75mm likely at some places in Western, Sabaraganuwa, Southern, Eastern and Northern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya Distrists.

Fairly heavy showers above 50mm can be expected at some places elsewhere.
