Pope Francis, 86, hospitalised in Rome with a respiratory infection

Colombo (News 1st) - Pope Francis, 86, has been hospitalised in Rome with a respiratory infection on Wednesday, the Vatican announced. He had for several days complained of difficulties in breathing.
The Pope does not have COVID, but his illness was discovered during a checkup at the Policlinico A. Gemelli Hospital. It is expected that he will require a few days of treatment, the Vatican said.
The Pope had presided over the daily General Audience in St. Peter's Square earlier in the day.
