Murder suspect with links to underworld arrested by STF

COLOMBO (News 1st);  The Sri Lanka Police Special Task Force arrested a close associate of notorious underworld criminal Stanley Kennedy Fernando also known as Bumma.

The detained suspect was identified as 24-year-old Dilushan Kumarasiri.

Sri Lanka Police said that the suspect is connected to the attempted murder of a person at the Galpotta Junction in Kotahena on the 21st of January.

Police also said that the suspect is wanted for the murder of two other people in Mutuwal.

The suspect was arrested based on information received by the OIC of the Police Special Task Force Intelligence Bureau.

A locally manufactured revolver, weapons used to commit murder, a three-wheeler with fake license plates were also seized during the arrest.
