One injured in shooting in Thalpe

COLOMBO (News 1st) - One person has been injured in a shooting in Thalpe, in Habaraduwa. 

Police say that the injured is a 30-year-old resident of Navimana. 

A group of individuals who claimed to be Police officers had arrived at the victim's residence, and taken him away in a car. 

Investigations revealed that the group then shot the individual in the leg, and abandoned him in Thalpe. 

The injured person is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya hospital. 

Investigations in this regard are underway.
