VAT hike to also impact manufacturing sector, resulting in job losses - Nalin Hewage

Jathika Jana Balawegaya MP Nalin Hewage says that the Sri Lankan government is continuing to tax the people that are already struggling to make ends meet.

He highlights that the people have to pay Rs. 150 for each liter of petrol and diesel. 

He also points out that that as electricity is generated from diesel, it is impossible to run a factory or business.

Accordingly, the JJB MP points out that the VAT hike will adversely affect the manufacturing sector in country, resulting in the reduction of production and job losses.
