Special leave for government employees unable to report to work due to prevailing disasters

Special leave will be granted to government employees for not being able to report to work due to prevailing disasters.

That is for the months of September, October, November and December 2023.

According to the circular issued by the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, public sector employees who are unable to report to duty due to transportation difficulties, displacements and disasters caused by floods, landslides and road blockages in various parts of the country will be entitled to special leave.

The circular also adds that the request with the recommendation of the Grama Niladhari should be forwarded to the heads of their institutions to obtain the relevant leave.
