Repairs of generator 1 of Norochcholai power plant to be completed within next 4 days: CEB Spokesman

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Electricity Board says that the repairs of generator 1 of the Norochcholai power plant will be concluded within the next 4 days.
Generator 1 of the Norochcholai power plant underwent a technical failure, resulting in an islandwide power outage.
Spokesperson of the CEB Engineer Noel Priyantha says that meanwhile generator 3 has now been reconnected to the national grid.
Repairs of generator 2 have also been completed.
He says that due to the generation of hydropower and Christmas vacations, the electricity demand has reduced.
The percentage of hydropower generated yesterday is 59.12%.
