COLOMBO (News 1st); A SriLankan Airlines flight en route to the Maldives was forced to return to Bandaranaike International Airport (Katunayake) shortly after takeoff on Wednesday (20) due to a technical fault.
Flight UL 101, which departed Colombo at 7:30 AM, landed safely back at the airport ten minutes later as a precautionary measure.
Deepal Perera, SriLankan Airlines spokesperson, confirmed the incident and attributed it to a technical issue.
SriLankan Airlines arranged for alternative flights to ensure minimal disruption to passenger travel plans.
