COLOMBO (News 1st); The token strike that was due to commence on Thursday (14) morning at the National Eye Hospital in Colombo has been suspended.
The decision was reached following a discussion with the Secretary to the Ministry of Health Dr. Palitha Mahipala.
The token strike was planned over the failure of the Hospital Director and the Ministry of Health to respond to the unprofessional behavior of the Administrative Officer of the National Eye Hospital.
Spokesman of the Government Medical Officers' Association Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe said the trade union action was suspended after the Health Secretary promised to look into the issue and conduct an investigation.
