Applications to be called for the second phase of the Aswesuma relief in January

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Finance says that applications will be called for the second phase of the Aswesuma relief in January.

A review of the first phase is to be done before that.

1.47 Million beneficiaries were accounted for in October.

This is an increase of 29,932 compared to the  1.377 million beneficiaries in September.

The Ministry of Finance says that it expects to increase the number of beneficiaries of the Aswasuma social welfare program to 2 million.

The Ministry of Finance also says that it expects to select the most suitable team for that.

The government has allocated 205 billion rupees for the payment of the Aswasuma social welfare program in 2024.
