Heavy showers in several areas today (30)

The Department of Meteorology said the showery weather condition is expected to enhance over the island due to an atmospheric disturbance over the South-east Bay of Bengal Sea area.

The Met. Department predicted showers or thundershowers in the Northern, North-Central, and Eastern provinces, with showers or thundershowers in other provinces after 01.00 p.m.

The Department predicted heavy showers of about 100mm in the Northern, Eastern, Central, and Uva provinces.
