The Department of Irrigation has issued an advisory for floods for Alawwa, Divulapitiya, Mirigama, Pannala, Wennappuwa, Negombo, Katana, Narammala, and Dankotuwa.

This is due to the heavy showers experienced near the Maha Oya basin.

In the meantime, the National Building Research Organistion has issued a red landslide alert to the Galigamuwa, Aranayaka and Kegalle divisional secretariats in the Kegalle district.

The Badulla district Disaster Management Centre says the roads were closed due to landslide reported near the 179th km post.

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces.
