COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Chief of Selectors, Pramodya Wickramasinghe said that a conspiracy by a certain group was a reason for the national team's poor performance at the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.

Speaking to reporters at the Katunayake Airport on Friday (10) following the arrival of the national team, Wickramasinghe assured that he would reveal details of everything that happened with the Sri Lanka team at the World Cup, in two days.

"Give me two days, I will reveal it all," he said. "I accepted my responsibility, and I will not shy away from it.  I will reveal all the details, including any possible conspiracy, about who led to the collapse and who wanted to sabotage us. I will explain in the future."

Sri Lanka were eliminated from the first round of the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, and they returned to the island early on Friday.

In the 9 games Sri Lanka played, they could only manage to win two and concede all the others.

Several members of Sri Lanka Cricket were at the Katunayake Airport premises to welcome the men's national cricket team that was led by Kusal Mendis.
